3. Ask your town’s chamber of commerce for a list of businesses in or around the area.
4. See if your local library has a list of nearby businesses that can remove mold.
5. Contact FEMA to find out whom they’d recommend in your area since the government based program offers assistance for natural disasters like flood damage.
6. Once you’ve found a contractor, find out if they charge a fee for out of town services. If so, ask if they offer any discounts for those services. Most businesses won’t mention discounts unless a customer asks first. If they don’t try mentioning another contractor you’re interested in. Sometimes just mentioning a competitor will cause even the most stubborn business to make a special deal.
7. Check the Yellowpages online and map out the closest contractors using Yahoo, Google or Mapquest. Just because they’re listed in the phonebook of the next town doesn’t mean they’re actually located there.
